The Micheline School of Maintenance is located within
the facilities of the IECA Specialized Center of High Technology
The French tire company,
Michelin, inaugurated the facilities of its School of Maintenance in Leon,
Guanajuato, where it will form and train the company's personnel.
The school covers an
area of 995 square meters and will be managed by Michelin technical staff and
instructors.
According to
information from the company, a year is intended to train 560 workers.
The IECA contributed an
investment of 6 million pesos for its conditioning; while Michelin invested 1.2
million of dollars for equipment and operation.
Some of the workshops
that will be taught at this school are electricity, electrical control,
metrology, hydraulics, industrial maintenance, pneumatics and PLC.
This training center is
equipped with state-of-the-art technology, has Hydraulic-Pneumatic
Laboratories, Electricity, an Assessment workshop, a Mechanical workshop, four
cubicles for instructors, three classrooms and an office.
The Michelin School of
Maintenance is located within the facilities of the Specialized High Tech
Center of IECA, located in the city of León.
Pete Selleck, president
of Michelin in North America participated in the inauguration; Mike Boggs, CEO
of Michelin in Mexico; Juan Carlos Lopez Rodriguez, general director of IECA
and Franco Herrera Sanchez, Undersecretary of Attraction of Investments of the
Ministry of Sustainable Economic Development (SDES, by its Spanish initials).
After cutting the bar,
with which the School of Maintenance was officially inaugurated, the directors
of Michelin, IECA and SDES made a tour of the facilities.
Mike Boggs, Managing
Director of Michelin in Mexico, highlighted the importance of the school for
the development of Michelin and Guanajuato.
In August of last year,
Michelin laid the foundation stone of its production plant and is expected to
start operations by the end of 2018.
The company will invest
510 million and is expected to generate more than 1,000 jobs.
This manufacture is the
number 21 of Grupo Michelin in North America and is located at the Leon-Bajio
Industrial Park (PILBA.)
