Grupo Brisas arrives in Guanajuato with an innovative lodging project with a Japanese theme, it is the Galeria Plaza located in Irapuato, Guanajuato.

Antonio Cosio Pando, CEO of Grupo Brisas, said that the total investment of the project is of 17 million dollars and 240 direct jobs and 750 indirect ones will be generated.

The hotel will have 138 rooms of 5 categories: 87 luxury, 42 lofts, 3 junior suites, 3 master suites and 3 lofts master suites.

“It is the first hotel with Japanese theme, we are in a market with high Asian influence, many investments have arrived in Guanajuato, but the predominant is the Japanese and a Japanese society has been integrated that demands certain kind of product, then we are the first ones in integrating Japanese aspects in our rooms,” he explained.

Regarding the 3 lofts master suites, those are long stay rooms, which will have the traditional ofuro, which is the typical Japanese hot water bath, unique in the region.

Galeria Plaza Irapuato will have an auditorium kind hall that can be divided in up to 4 segments, with a total capability of 700 people and that can be used for events and conventions, inside its facilities it will be offering a terrace for social events and of groups, as well as different green areas to perform any kind of event outside.

Likewise, it will have a business center, gymnasium, spa, brisas business blub – executive floor, terrace with swimming pool, conventions’ room, wide parking lot and Asian specialized restaurant.

“Grupo Brisas has nine hotels in Mexico, and we are betting on an enclosure full of great design, comfort and excellent location; with Japanese style it is not a trend with which Gurpo Brisas hotel will continue, the style is to suit the market,” he noted.

Meanwhile, Enrique Shibayama, leading project architect, explained that the construction of the hotel was ruled under the environmental protection standards to support ecology and sustainability, in addition of being careful in the decoration is attached to the tradition of the Japanese gardening.


Antonio Cosio explained that Galeria Plaza Irapuato will be offering a service focused on business tourism with a center equipped with services required to support the executive traveler and even to serve larger executive meetings.

The hotel has a working bar for four people with coffee break station, which integrates into an open area with worktable for five people and two individual extra tables.

The main business room is private with capacity for 16 people, with a reception room for five people.  Additionally, it offers two private rooms and two offices.
The Business Center offers bilingual secretary service and private restrooms.
