Korean assembler KIA Motors Mexico will contribute with about 15 million pesos to social responsibility programs in 2017, which will benefit nearly 3,000 Mexicans.

The director of the company, Horacio Chavez said that so far this year the contributions for the recovery of children with cancer amount to 3 million pesos.

“We expect to close the year with a contribution of about six million pesos, which will support the treatment for about 250 children,” Chavez said.

He also commented that the company has also made contributions to the program called “Del amor nace la vista,” which is focused on supporting elderly Mexicans with scarce resources to undergo cataract surgery.

In this program, KIA Motors Mexico has contributed six million pesos for about 1,000 operations and expects to conclude the year with contributions amounting to nine million pesos to the benefit of 1,500 Mexicans.

“This social contribution is very important. KIA always seeks to contribute to society and in Pesqueria, Nuevo Leon and Mexico we have also sought to do this type of work,” said the director.

He recalled that the assembler’s contributions stem from the sale of the two vehicles made in Mexico, the Forte and Rio. “All the investment we have made here and the economic revenue that is generated in Nuevo Leon contributes to helping the people who need it the most,” he added.

ESTIMATED SALES REBOUND

KIA Motors Mexico foresees a rebound in the sales of pre-owned cars in the country, for which it launched a program that will contribute to the transformation of the pre-owned market in Mexico.

According to studies in the Automobile Guide, better known as Blue Book, the depreciation of a KIA in the first year of use is seven percentage points less than the rest of the vehicles on the market.

He notices that while other brand units devalue an average 29 percent in the first year, KIA vehicles do it by 22 percent on average.

In this framework, the Korean manufacturer launched the KIA Konfidence program, through which it offers the revaluation of vehicles with certified units and up to seven years warranty.
