Royal businessmen and state government are planning to attract 100 Asian companies with an estimated investment of 1.5 billion to 2 billion over a period of 8 to 10 years.
The construction of Hofusan Industrial Park begins in NL
By the end of August the Hofusan Industrial Park foundation stone was placed in the municipality of Salinas Victoria, which will be a magnet for Asian investment, project investors and state authorities of Nuevo Leon, considered.
The Secretary of Economy and Labor of Nuevo Leon, Fernando Turner Davila said that this industrial park is going to be a success and that the State is expected to attract 100 Chinese companies in a period of 10 years.
“This is going to be a magnet of Chinese investment attraction and that will give the state prosperity, Salinas Victoria will give you job opportunities, and the State of Nuevo Leon will put it on the map of China, and could become the first foreign investor in the state,” said the state official, who added that the quality of Nuevo Leon's workforce is the best in the world.
“We have the best manpower in the world and I tell you with all knowledge and experience. They are very dedicated people, very hardworking, very close to the company, with many desires to progress, learn very fast, are disciplined, and have a great number of values that will be truly wanted in any country in the world,” he said.
Cesar Santos, a Monterrey-based investor who participates in the project and appointed chairman of the Hofusan Executive Committee, explained that the industrial park will cover an area of 850 hectares and that in the initial stage of construction and development will allocate between 50 and 60 million dollars.
In addition, he emphasized that the industrial park could reach private investment between 1,500 and 2,000 million dollars in a period of 10 years.
“We estimate, because it was what happened in a similar park that they did in Thailand, investments would be attracted to Nuevo Leon from Asian companies of between 1,500 to 2,000 million dollars and would generate around 20,000 jobs,” said the businessman from Monterrey.
The Hofusan Industrial Park is the result of the union between Holley Group, Futon Group and the Santos family, and it is a project that includes areas for the installation of companies, commercial and residential developments.
This park is aimed at attracting investments from the automotive, home appliances, medical equipment, fiber optics and energy sectors.
Holley Group President Wang Licheng emphasized that for more than a year they worked to prepare the necessary conditions to start the construction of the Hofusan Industrial Park.
After thanking the government of Nuevo Leon for the support received to promote the development of this industrial park, he said that today they are starting the construction of the first standard industrial building, which they estimate will be finished by the end of 2017.
Last November, Governor Jaime Rodriguez Calderon met in the Chinese city of Hangzhou, with directors and suppliers of the Holley Group and Futong Group companies to discuss the project now under construction.
The placement of the foundation stone was attended by Ricardo del Olmo Davila, in representation of the Ministry of Economy from the Federal Government; Humberto Torres, secretary of State Infrastructure; Gonzalo Elizondo, mayor of Salinas Victoria, as wel as Zou Chuanming, economic advisor of the China Embassy in Mexico; Wang Licheng, president of the Holley Group Committee; Cesar Santos, president of the Hofusan Executive Committee; Hu Hai, president of the Hofusan Industrial Park an Li Feng, director of Futong Group.
