Android de Mexico plant opened in the Cerritos Industrial Park, in Silao, Guanajuato.  It is a global company, with 23 plants in different countries.  Leader in innovation, complex assemblies of tools and equipment solutions for the auto-parts sector.

Kathy Nichols, CEO Android Industries, said that it is an American company with more than 40 years of experience in the market.


The company will invest 21 million dollars in two stages, and will generate 287 jobs.  It is projected to sell 900 million pesos additional to the sales they have in Mexico today, which reach 600 million pesos.

“We found in Guanajuato the ideal place to invest, since we sought options in Mexico that could provide us labor stability conditions, legal security, connectivity, supply and improve the business environment for our daily operation,” he detailed.

Android Silao, of American origin, supplies services of sequence of components for General Motors plant.  They are in charge of integrating the modules-sets of components of spare tire kits for Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, as well as radiators, consoles and other components GM integrates directly at the production line.

Its strategic location at the Cerritos Park in Silao will allow Android seeking for more opportunities in Mexico with companies as Toyota and Michelin.  In the second phase of the project they will manufacture consoles and radiator modules.


The company has 40 years of experience, 3,300 employees globally and generates sales by 18 billion dollars.  It has 23 plants located in Italy, Spain, the United States, and Brazil.  Its main customers are GM, Ford, Toyota, Chrysler, Daimler and Michelin.


Regarding this, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, governor of the State of Guanajuato, said that with these investments, Guanajuato keeps the rhythm in investments attraction.

“With this event we strength our alliance with the productive sector to create more dignified job sources for the people of Guanajuato, therefore, we are welcoming Android, as with this kind of investments we will consolidate the State as an ideal place to invest,” he noted.

The governor announced that Guanajuato is a success case national and internationally, sixth place in economic growth, and the goal is achieving the first place, therefore, he said that it is necessary to continue strengthening the existing clusters and encourage new ones, in addition of promoting MSMEs.

“The arrival of Android is good news because it shows the confidence American companies have to continue investing in the State and Mexico, despite the complex situations we are living.  This is a great message, that confidence continues being strong,” he emphasized.

At this event was present the CEO of Android Industries, Kathy Nichols; the mayor, Juan Antonio Morales Maciel; and the secretary of Economic Sustainable Development, Mauricio Usabiaga Diaz Barriga.
