Gomez Palacio hosted the first days of the event which ended in Mazatlan, Sinaloa


One of the most expected events of the year in La Laguna fulfilled its expectations as the Expo Cluster Automotriz La Laguna was held in the city of Gomez Palacio, Durango and it achieved gathering businessmen, students and companies from different parts of the Republic.

 

The event took place at the Convention Center of the city Gomez Palacio and it was attended by tens of companies linked with the automotive industry that settled their stands to exhibit their products and services, as well as there were also present educational institutions and Government offices related to the economic and business touristic promotion segment.

 

The first day of the event started with the conference from representatives of Iberdrola, who talked about the new opportunities within the wholesale electric market, while businessmen and members of companies held conversations in business tables, which were set to strength commercial relations between exhibitors.

 

Minutes later the event opening was held, where Jose Luis Hotema, president of the Automotive Cluster La Laguna, took the word and thanked the attendees for their presence.

 

Among the invited authorities were Jesus Miguel Martinez, head of Economic Development in Gomez Palacio; Ramon Davila Flores, secretary of Economic Development in Durango, in representation of the governor Jose Aispuro; Sergio Lara Galvan City Hall secretary in Torreon; Ricardo Schumm, in representation of the governor of Coahuila, Miguel Angel Riquelme, among other officials from the neighboring States.

 

Immediately after the authorities held a tour by the more than 100 stands and at the end the traditional ribbon cut was made.

 

Conferences continue with Lincoln Electric addressing topical subjects about new technologies and solutions for the automotive sector.

 

Afterwards, a meal was offered for guests and exhibitors, to continue with networking activities and of approaching between companies.

 

To end the first day of activities a business cocktail was celebrated where businessmen and companies representatives gathered and talked sharing ideas or closing deals.

 

The following day they continue with the stands exhibition, as well as the talks in business tables, in addition to conferences lectured by Orestes Hubbard from San Antonio, Texas, who talked about the strategic alliances.  Alberto Cordero offered a motivational talk based on closeness to success.

 

JOB FAIRS

 

In this Summit celebrated from May 23th to 28th, industries present installed a job bank with tables for direct interviews to those interested in a job opportunity.

In addition, students from different educational institutions of technical and higher levels had the opportunity of knowing close products suppliers and services from an industry to which they will like to incorporate in a future.

 

NORTH CORRIDOR

 

As part of the regional promotion, the Expo Cluster Automotriz Laguna continued on their third day in Mazatlan, fulfilling in Sinaloa lands the closing of the event, which achieved its purpose of promoting the productive sector regionally, since it is considered that La Laguna has great potential for companies of that sector be installed on its territory.

Another reason of moving it to Mazatlan was to show the competitive advantages La Comarca has by having a privileged location, which in addition of gathering the states of Coahuila and Durango, which are part of the Northern Economic Corridor, which starts in the Pacific Ocean at the Port of Mazatlan, going through Durango, until reaching Torreon.
